Will CM Punk Lose His Title Due to the Shield Interference?

After their onslaught on the People’s Champion during the latest edition of Monday Night Raw, the team of Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns—better known as the Shield—have been banned from interfering with the WWE Championship match between current champion CM Punk and his challenger the Rock at this Sunday’s Royal Rumble pay-per-view event.

The announcement was made on Tuesday via a WWE.com update on a supposed injury the Rock had.

According to the WWE.com update, “Mr. McMahon has added a new stipulation to Sunday’s WWE Championship Match: If The Shield interfere in this bout, Punk will be stripped of his title.”

Ever since the Shield’s debut on November 8, 2012 during the Survivor Series pay-per-view, Ambrose, Rollins and Reigns have been instrumental in allowing the 400-plus-days champion CM Punk to retain his title. Could the Shield once again join Punk in the ring?

With the Rock expected to win the WWE title against CM Punk this weekend, the Shield’s intervention at the Royal Rumble could set up the perfect scenario where Punk can both drop the strap and seem like a strong champion.

If Punk was to lose his title to the Rock as a result of a disqualification—on account of the latest stipulation on their match—he could set up a rematch claiming that he was “robbed” of his title.

It remains to be seen whether the Shield will have a presence this Sunday, but if CM Punk is to lose his title, what better way than to do so because of outside interference.

Does CM Punk Deserves to Face The Rock at WrestleMania

CM Punk has held the WWE Championship for 379 consecutive days as of this writing, a feat that has placed him firmly in the record books.

He has held nearly every major championship in WWE and worked some of the biggest names in the business including the Undertaker, Chris Jericho, Triple H, Randy Orton and of course, John Cena. But he has one opponent left to face and one mountain left to climb.

The time has come for CM Punk to face The Rock in the main event of WrestleMania.

To be honest, I have long held the opinion that Rocky will square off against Cena, in a rematch from this year’s Mania.  Though Vince McMahon had advertised WrestleMania 28’s epic showdown as “once in a lifetime,” I for one was not convinced that would actually be the case.

After all, this is WWE we’re talking about here, where anything can happen, right?

Rock vs. Cena at WrestleMania 28 was a huge moneymaker for WWE, and was the biggest WWE pay-per-view of all time.  Why would any promoter, especially McMahon, stop with just one match?

Why not cash in one more time?  Certainly every issue between Rocky and John could not have been resolved with just one bout, why not give fans another great WWE moment?

A win over Rocky would vindicate John from this year’s loss and would once again reestablish him as the undisputed top dog of WWE.  No doubt about it, that was definitely my train of thought when considering what the main event of WrestleMania 29 should be.

But after the way recent storylines have played out on Raw the past month or so, I have really changed my mind on this one.  Why?

Because of the two Superstars, I believe that CM Punk is the one headed in the right direction for a prime spot against the People’s Champion on the grandest stage of them all.

Punk is the champ.  Period.  He has defeated every opponent placed in front of him, consistently turned in one great match after another, and done it all while still being as effective on the microphone as he was since he first entered the business.  And with the addition of Paul Heyman by his side, Punk is stronger than ever before.

He is at the pulse of the company, the featured attraction on Monday Night Raw.  As the champion, Punk holds the richest prize in the industry and has become the biggest heel on WWE programming.

Though Ryback has put him to the test, Punk always finds a way to come out on top and despite any criticism he receives due to ratings, the fact is that WWE has showed a real commitment to keeping Punk at the top.

Add to this the jabs that both Rocky and Punk have thrown at each other via Twitter over the past few months, and you have a brewing rivalry that I believe will not end at the Royal Rumble.

Should CM Punk Join The NXT Invasion?

The NXT Invasion does seem to have givin CM Punk a hand to defeat Ryback and I cant understand if they NXT guys wanted to  ‘make a statement’ they didnt attack Punk aswell? Although that could be said for Brad Maddox aswell.
Previous Story of Brad Maddox:

Although the WWE Champion CM Punk never spent any time on NXT, he was involved in OVW which at that time was pretty much NXT, it was WWE’s developmental ground and at the time run by Paul Heyman. So the guy knows what is like to break through. In Punks Best In The World DVD he says that he was disappointed to have to go into OVW after being a star in the independent scene prior to debuting in WWE.

CM Punk has denied being in cahoots with Brad Maddox, but we have yet to learn regarding any relationship with Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns.

When the WWE NXT Invasion develops into an official stable, no one will be surprised to see CM Punk as the leader.

CM Punk has proven to be a great leader. He led the New Nexus until his contract expired following Money in the Bank 2011.

In addition, he led the Straight Edge Society, which was unfortunately cut short. This was the perfect stable for Punk to lead based on his character. Punk discusses in his recently released DVD that he wished he was able to do more with the SES.

The WWE NXT Invasion would be wise to not just include CM Punk, but allow him to lead them to the main-event level of the company.

CM Punk does like to boost the underdogs and push the company to give the young guys some TV time. Here is CM Punk on NXT celebrating with Seth Rollins back in August and there werehttps://picturesofcmpunk.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post-new.php parallels drawn between the two back then.

Also another Fun video for you, CM Punk’s Rookie (Darren Young, from The Prime Time Players) takes on NXT Rookie Skip Sheffield (Ryback)

But should he join in, perhaps also Heyman could bring in Brock Lesner too?

Punk and Heyman: Jerrys Heart Attack Segement

Just thought i’d put this out there that I have absolutely no problem with that Punk/Heyman segment.

I’m honestly not surprised that WWE did that, and I do believe that they wouldn’t have went through with it if it wasn’t okay with Jerry. They used to do stuff like that all the time in the attuide era thats what made it great, relax.

Did you all forget those countless times in the WWE where they took real life situations and inserted them into the storylines.

1. Lita cheating on Matt with Edge

2. Jeff Hardy’s house burning down,

3. Jeff Hardy’s drug problem.

That’s just a few of them that I can name off the top of my head. I understand that if you feel that it was taken too far, or that it was too soon, but if you’re gonna go after anybody go after the creative team, not Punk and Heyman.

This is just another way lump more heat  on CM Punk, because we all still think hes great.

AJ and CM Punk: Still being talked about…

I am a little shocked at the views of some fans still talking about CM Punk and AJ.

1. This Storyline seems to be completely droped

2. We now have Cena AJ scandal so surely the whole, AJ Punk is gone

3.  AJ was never really with Punk, as it was a love triangle storyline with Kane, Daniel Bryan and AJ and Punk

Some of the articles that I have read seem to be  hinting on the side of the AJ scandal somehow involving punk and magically swinging back to punk making it like AJ and CM Punk were always together…. yeah.

Also there seems to be a lot of fan heat between AJ (Previous Storyline Relationship) and Lita (Punks current real life relationship)

However I would love a match between these two to happen, Lita is the best diva ever.

In short there still seems to be a significant want from the WWE Universe for CM Punk and AJ to continue as a storyline. WHY?

Here’s Some Picture’s of Punk and AJ,

Will Paul Heyman Eventually Turn on CM Punk?

While Punk is with question a “Heyman guy,” a lot of people were puzzled by their alliance initially. Heyman has traditionally been used by the WWE to further guys who aren’t particularly good on the mic, such as Brock Lesnar, Big Show and Rob Van Dam. Punk is arguably the best in the business at cutting promos, though, so it was a case of the rich getting richer.

Punk has still been allowed to do the majority of the talking on his own with Heyman acting as a propaganda machine more than anything. The goal was to transition Punk from one of the most popular faces in the company to the biggest heel in a matter of weeks and Heyman’s constant yammering about Punk being the best in the world has been helpful in that regard.

With that said, Punk isn’t going to remain heel over the long term. Punk has proven to be very capable as a top heel, but his fanbase is still sizable. The real money is in Punk being a face, and he will revert to face status at some point. When he does, there is no question that his relationship with Heyman will come to an end.
